This year at Lonesome Dove Fest Karnes County 4-H will be hosting a booth to get cards drawn and written up for wounded warriors. Tell all your friends :)
What I need from you... from about 12noon till 6pm I need youth to sign up in 1 hour or 2 hour increments to help work the booth... Adults you're welcome to help to...

National 4-H Week
National 4-H Week is October 2-8, 2011. This week is a time designated for 4-H programs across the nation to promote what an amazing youth organization we have! Take the time to discuss at your next club meeting what you can do to promote National 4-H week.
The Tractor Supply Paper Clover Campaign will be Wed, Sept 21 - Sunday October 2nd! Telly our friends and anyone who shops at TSC to donate to our local program!
Last quarters campaign raised $48 for our county program!!!!! Way to go!!!!!

County Calendar
On the new website there is a calendar with dates occuring across the County, District, and State. I encourage you to put these dates on your calendar now so we don't miss an opportunity for our youth! If you have any questions about any of the dates, please contact Meredith.

KCYS Rules & Entry forms
Karnes County Youth Show Rules have been posted to our new website. http://karnes.agrilife.org/ I encourage you to check out the information on the website & print a copy of your own. Due to the cost of postage we are unable to mail out rules this year, but will have copies printed at our office for you to pick up if needed!

2011-2012 4-H Enrollment
It's time to enroll for 4-H again!
This year things will change, but I guarantee for the better... We have so many projects and workshops in the works & are ready to kick off with a bang!
To enroll in 4-H go to: 4-H Connect and log in with your email and password for 4-H Connect. We no longer assist with the password assistance because of the sensitivity of the information, however, there is a "forgot your password" link. I encourage you to use that.
Changes this year:
1. $20 ENROLLMENT FEE-This is a one-time fee for the ENTIRE year... thats about $1.28 per month. In order to pay online, you must have a debit/credit card of some form. After September 30, enrollment fees will go up to $25 per youth. Karnes County 4-H will not be paying for youth's enrollment fees this year. Adult volunteers and Clover kids need to register, however, they are not subject to enrollment fees. Please make an effort to get this done soon.
ENROLLMENT NIGHTS - There will be nights at the Extension Office, where you can come enroll your youth at our office. Those dates are August 30, 2011 and September 6, 2011 from 5-7 pm.
