Participation Fee
Over the past two years, we have experienced quite a few changes in Karnes County. Changes are happening not only in our backyard, but across the state. We are all facing challenging economic times, and that means that Texas AgriLife Extension Service and Texas 4-H are affected as well.
To maintain the level of programming & opportunities for Texas 4-H members across the state, an annual participation fee will be assessed at the beginnign fo the 2011-2012 4-H year. Starting September 1, 2011 when you register your child(ren) on 4-H connect you will be assessed a $25 participation fee per youth involved. The fee will be discounted to $20 per youth until October 31, 2011 to promote registration within the first two months of the programming year. This fee will help Texas AgriLife Extension Service ensure the delivery of highest quality 4-H programs.
We feel that $20 in Texas 4-H is an investment in your child's future. A recent national study shows that members are twice as likely to plan to go to college & they are 3 times more likely to contribute to their communities when compared to youth who did not participate in 4-H.
As always, we are ready to answer any questions you may have regarding the new program participation fee. This fee will not affect current programs, but it will help us to deliver better quality programs in the future.
