District Event Photos

This is an excellent opportunity for recordbook photos!

Steer Validation

Steer Validation for all Major shows will take place on June 15th at 5pm.  The validation will take place at Karnes County Veterinary Hospital right outside Karnes City.

It is not imperative that the youth be there, however, a PARENT/GUARDIAN must be there to sign paperwork.

Also, there are no make-up dates, so please make every effort to be there.

County Recordbooks!!!

4-H Recordbooks and Award applications are due to the Extension Office June 17,2011 by 5 pm.  No late recordbooks will be accepted.

You must complete a recordbook & application to be eligible for Achievement Night Awards (Rookie, Outstanding Junior, Bronze Star, Silver Star, Gold Star, Golden Clover, I Dare You).

All applications are available at the Extension Office or can be emailed to you.  Just let us know!!!

Print Cartridge/Cell Phone Recycling

Karnes County Youth Board & Karnes County 4-H are collecting your USED ink/toner cartridges and cell phones for the recycling program.

If you, of if you know of someone, has any please let us know or drop them off at the Extension Office!

Karnes County 4-H Booster Scholarship

Each year Karnes County 4-H gives two (2) $200 scholarships to deserving seniors who have actively participated in County 4-H Activities.

The only requirement is that they must have successfully completed a 4-H recordbook for the previous and/or current 4-H year.

Submission of your recordbook by June 17, 2011 is required to be eligible for the scholarship!

District Leadership Lab

District Leadership Lab will be June 20-22, 2011 in La Grange Tx.  This is an EXCELLENT way to brush up on your leadership skills.  You must be in 14 or going into High School and not a graduated senior to go.

County Council officers and members are urged to sign up at the Extension Office with Willie or Meredith by May 31.  There are only 8 spots open. 

Scholarships are available to pay for registration fees.  Please let Meredith know.

Vet Science Meeting

There will be a Vet Science Meeting May 21 at noon.  It will be held at the Bee Vet Science Hospital located at 1900 N St. Marys in Beeville (across from Payless).

Certified Texas Bred Registry Foundation Gilt Scholarship & Grants

The Texas Pork Producers Association is now accepting applications for our newly created Certified Texas Bred Registry Foundation Gilt Scholarships and Certified Texas Bred Registry Foundation Gilt Production Grants.  These scholarships and Production Grants are provided by the sale of the CTBR Foundation Gilt at the annual Texas Stars Gilt Show & Sale at the San Angelo Livestock Show.

Both the CTBR Foundation Gilt Scholarships and grants begin at $2,500.  Larger scholarship and grant amounts may be provided and will be based on merit as determined by the Selection Committee.

Dealine for mailing application is June 1, 2011.
